UNMISSABLE SITES
The Cathedral and the Baptistery of Parma
With its 900 years of age, the Parma Cathedral is a sacred place of art and history. Inside are Roman bas-reliefs of Antelami and the grandiose frescos of Allegri which emanate devotion. Once you have visited the Duomo, you must visit the Baptistery, that is the most sacred treasure of Parma.
The main square of Parma, Piazza Garibaldi
Piazza Garibaldi is the main artery of the historic center of Parma and it is also considered the most beautiful square.
On Piazza Garibaldi you will find the Palazzo del Comune and the Palazzo del Governatore. Unfortunately a visit is possible only during major fairs.
The Pilotta Palace and the Farnese Theater
Near the central square of the city there is Piazza della Pilotta and Palazzo della Pilotta.
Inside Palazzo della Pilotta, that is an unusual building, there is the National Gallery, the National Archaeological Museum and the ancient Teatro Farnese. It is potentially one of the most beautiful monuments of Parma.
The Teatro Regio
The neoclassical style of Teatro Regio is an attraction for many tourists.
The construction began in 1820 thanks to the Countess Maria Luisa, second wife of Napoleon, that during her reign followed the works of decoration.
